Community based ecotourism in the Cardamom Mountains

Welcome to the Southern Cardamom Mountains

The project

Community-based ecotourism in Chi Phat and Trapeang Rung communes aims to support protection of the natural and cultural resources of the area and create job and income opportunities for villagers through the development of community-based ecotourism products and activities, providing training and alternative livelihoods to hunters, loggers, and non-timber forest products (NTFP) collectors, as well as improving commune infrastructure and public facilities.

Chi PhatThis village is situated 17km upstream from Road 48.  It is a small secluded village allowing you to immerse yourself in the relaxed Cardamom lifestyle.  Opened in October 2008, Chi Phat's CBET has set the standard in the country, providing a wide array of green activities suitable for all ages and skills, from experienced mountain bikers to people seeking relaxation in a calm and comfortable lodge overlooking the river and enjoying a bird-watching tour or a sunset dinner cruise.
